Put a fork in me

Seriously, you could put a fork in me and call me done for this semester.  My husband feels the same way.  We are so done with this semester that it is unreal.  I should be studying right now before I jump in the shower to get ready for class, but instead I am writing about studying.  LOL…. Does that count?? Let’s see, Rob and I have a test tomorrow in our MLT class on urinalysis, and then tomorrow night I have another test on chapters 8,9,10 in Chemistry 1151, which is Survey of Chemistry. That class is basically ALLLLL the chemistries rolled into this one class!!!! Oh Vey!! So, that is the homework that I am trying to finish up, for chem.  My homework is online for this class, and it’s due on 12/4. Then on 12/8 for chem. I have FINALS!!!!!!! But wait, before 12/8 in this class, I have a lab final on 12/6.  Are you dizzy as I am with all these dates too??!! I’m not worried about both of MLT classes. So, no sweating it there. Alright off to do some homework before shower.

To another wonderful Thanksgiving

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! My husband and I prepared most of the food the day before. So all we had left to do was the ham and sweet potato casserole. I usually bake a double layer pumpkin pie cheesecake, but hubby said no and for me to relax a little with the baking. I felt weird not making it. It’s always a hit when we have other family members over at my in-laws, but my in-laws went to the mountains in N. Georgia this Thanksgiving.  So I guess I will make it this Christmas. YUUMMMYYY!! Emmaline started the prayer before we ate. It was sweet. Then we went for a walk around the neighborhood, and the girls rode their bikes. Tomorrow Reagan’s best friend will be here to spend the night. She is so excited. And guess what we are having for dinner the next few nights?? THANKSGIVING DINNER!!!!! LOL

Our dog Piper is a weird little creature. We rescued her when she was 4 weeks old from Animal Control.  She is an Affenhuahua, in other words she is part Affenpinscher and Chihuahua.  She looks like a mini Chewbacca or a Ewok. LOL! Well anyways, she likes her food heated, she throws a temper tantrum at night in bed if she can’t get in the middle between Rob and I, she knows exactly when the girls are home from school and gets excited about their arrival, and she refuses to go to bed at night until one of us goes to bed.  Piper loves to be cradled like a baby, and she has the sweetest sighs. Oh did I mention that she usually won’t eat her food until the cat eats? It’s like a competition type deal between them.  I don’t know, it’s strange!!

St. Clement

St. Clement I of Rome (92-101) was one of the first popes; according to St. Ireneus, he was the third after Peter. Clement most probably died as a martyr. Otherwise little is known of his life. It is not certain whether he is the one Paul mentions as his companion in Phil. 4:3. St. Clement's letter to the Corinthians is authentic; in it he authoritatively intervenes in that strife-torn community, a memorable act in the early history of the papacy.
The breviary gives these legendary details. Because of his zeal for souls, Pope Clement was banished to distant Chersonese; there he found two-thousand Christians who had received a similar sentence. When he came to these exiles he comforted them. "They all cried with one voice: Pray for us, blessed Clement, that we may become worthy of the promises of Christ. He replied: Without any merit of my own, the Lord sent me to you to share in your crowns." When they complained because they had to carry the water six miles, he encouraged them, "Let us all pray to the Lord Jesus Christ that He may open to His witnesses a fountain of water." "While blessed Clement was praying, the Lamb of God appeared to him; and at His feet a bubbling fountain of fresh water was flowing." Seeing the miracle, "All the pagans of the neighborhood began to believe."
When Trajan heard of these marvels, he ordered Clement to be drowned with an iron anchor about his neck. "While he was making his way to the sea, the people cried with a loud voice: Lord Jesus Christ, save him! But Clement prayed in tears: Father, receive my spirit." At the shore the Christians asked God to give them the body. The sea receded for three miles and there they found the body of the saint in a stone coffin within a small marble chapel; alongside lay the anchor. "You have given a dwelling to Your martyr Clement in the sea, O Lord, a temple of marble built by the hands of angels." The body was taken to Rome under Nicholas 1 (858-867) by Sts. Cyril and Methodius and placed in a church dedicated to his honor (S. Clemente). This is one of the most venerable of the churches in Rome because it retains all the liturgical arrangements of ancient times.
